So now we're back on track and I'm feeling a tremendous weight lifted and freedom to post whenever I feel like it. Ha! I'm back in charge. The man can't keep me down! So what should I tell you about my Thanksgiving? That we ate two Thanksgiving meals, so that would be 10,000 calories in two days? Or that when I served Makena the green bean casserole she said 'is that poo-poo?'
The kitchen is clean, the kids are tucked in bed, The Holiday is waiting in the DVD player, we have our Christmas tree up and the fire is roaring. A very fine holiday indeed and the perfect way to end it.
I completed the advent calendar much faster than I had anticipated and it is prominently displayed in the living room. Here is what we ended up with.
I'm going to work on what to put in it for each day this week. Grace has fabulous suggestions on her website.
Each little stocking was lovingly hand-stitched. I made patterns for the two different size stockings, found fabric for the tops and stitched the numbers. I'm the type of girl that needs to start and finish a project in an afternoon so this one was a challenge for me. I love it though and think the kids will really look forward to it as we use it for years to come.

the stockings turned out darling. But really, let's talk about that fireplace. That rocks. Very jealous.
Cute cute! And now that we've got that nabloshmablow junk out of the way, we can go back to eating bon bons and watching the price is right... right??? :-)

That is an awesome fireplace! So jealous. And the calendar is really cute! Now I'm inspired to come up with something in the next few days!
As for NaBlo, meh! I've had a couple of really lame-o posts that I'll not do once this is over. :) You still have one of the cooler blogs around.
The stocking are cute.
we did an advent calendar similar to yours, a few years back. Super fun!
Looks good, Jade! We just get the chocolate advent calendar from Trader Joes - love that place.
And the fireplace is very groovy ;)
How did you like The Holiday? I thought it was really cute. I even cried a few times. Very unexpected.
Love it girl! What a great job! I hope you guys had a wonderful Thanksgiving! The kids are adorable! Better lock them up Miles!
