For those of you who are the praying type, we need you. Here's the story plus an update.
Our daughter, Makena, was injured in a baby gate just before Christmas. She was hanging onto our metal baby gate when she fell. Her finger got stuck somehow in the gate and the weight of her fall severed her finger at the fingertip. We rushed her to the ER. She got five stitches to reattach the finger tip but her finger is broken. Her growth plate was shattered in the gate and the possible outcome could be that her finger will not continue to grow. We've now been to several specialists, occupational therapists and so on. All of the doctors up to this point don't think that surgery will fix it. Only time will tell. We just got x-rays again today only to find out that her finger is not healing. Makena is only three years old so we'll have a lifetime of waiting to see if/how it grows. We have an appointment with another surgeon Tuesday to see if he thinks surgery is the answer... if it can even be fixed.
We count our blessings everyday and are just glad she was not injured any more than she was. Please pass this on as we feel that it's in God's hands.

I will pray. Hang in there. God's timing is never our timing...
I'll do what I do when asked to pray, Jade. Like marjorie said, hang in there, all of you, and try to stay positive. Let me know if you need someone to listen, I'm good at that.
Oh Jade, I'm so sorry! Many prayers are on the way.
Hi Jade- you guys have my prayers, I know this must be tough for you... <3
I have been praying about this!! keep us updated...
I continue to hope that Makena's finger gets better!!
I will pray for your little one. I know it can be scary to not know, but God will take care of her. When My oldest had a blood disease (that they thought was leukemia) it helped me to look at how it could be worse, so I could be thankful for where we were. Not saying it was perfect. I had my days of screaming at God, crying all night, wondering if it would ever be over, but HE was always there. Molly was in full remission after 9 months of treatment. Thank God! I promise to pray for you and your little one.
I hope Makena will be better soon. I send her loads of good vibes.
Sending prayers your way.
oh, i will remember you all...may you continue to feel peace as you wait...
